TREES Group Chief Executive Presents Awards At Westminster Palace
October 2007
TREES Group Chief Executive John Montague was joined by The Apprentice star Tim Campbell to present the Youth Building Awards at Westminster Palace in London.
John, who chairs Youth building UK, handed out the awards with help from Tim Campbell and Chair of the Construction Industry Council Rt. Hon Nick Raynsford MP.
The awards recognise young people who have overcome difficulties in their lives to start a career in the construction industry.
Youthbuild UK projects aim to empower socially excluded young people to undertake vocational training to construct better communities, environments, enterprises, homes and facilities for those in need, enhancing their employment opportunities.
Among the winners of the awards, which were sponsored by NHBC (the National House Building Council), were Selena Hall, 23, from East London, and Kesi Fenton, 19, from Hackney.
John Montague said: "The Youthbuild Awards continue to go from strength-to-strength and we were delighted to have received more applications from the most diverse range of organisations this year than ever before."
"Newlife Regeneration and Construction is an example of how people can develop personally and professionally, if given the right opportunities and training."
