Thorpete Gas Services Receives High Praise From CORGI

October 2007

Gas servicing company Thorpete has been praised by CORGI (Certificate for Registered Gas Installers) for the fourth time in a row following an interim inspection.

Thorpete's IT and quality monitoring systems were initially inspected to gain CORGI Certification, a quality mark which is specific to the gas industry, and as a result, the company receives regular audits to ensure it continues to meet standards.

All CORGI registered gas contractors generally receive interim inspections every third year for CORGI registration; but with the certification accreditation additional inspection visits are required. These are typically once or twice a year.

In this latest inspection, nothing was found that even warranted an observation. Thorpete, part of the TREES group, were congratulated by the CORGI panel for this exceptional achievement.

Beverley Thorp, Business Manager of Thorpete, said: "The CORGI certification mark - and our successful interim inspections - truly demonstrates the professionalism of our hard-working staff and our commitment to deliver an impeccable level of service to our clients."

The company, based in Ashby Road, Coalville, Leicestershire, is run as a social enterprise - that is, a business with a social purpose, where profits are reinvested in the business or in the community and training opportunities are also made available.

Government legislation requires all landlords to have yearly inspections and tests on gas appliances installed in their properties to ensure that they remain safe to use.

Thorpete has recently completed its first year working with North West Leicestershire District Council. Council officers praised Thorpete for its exceptional performance in helping the authority reach 100 per cent of its targets.

Thorpete currently delivers a service to 15 social landlords and 11,300 homes in the East Midlands.
